Ethiopian Coffee

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

By: abesha habesha

Coffee is a brewed beverage prepared from roasted seeds, commonly called coffee beans, of the coffee plant. Due to its caffeine content, coffee has a stimulating effect in humans. Today, coffee is one of the most popular beverages worldwide.

It is supposed that the Ethiopians, the ancestors of today’s Galla tribe, were the first to have discovered and recognized the energizing effect of the coffee bean plant. However, no direct evidence has ever been found revealing exactly where in Africa coffee grew or who among the natives might have used it as a stimulant or even known about it there earlier than the seventeenth century. The earliest credible evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree appears in the middle of the fifteenth century, in the Sufi monasteries of the Yemen in southern Arabia. From Yemen, coffee spread to Egypt and Ethiopia, and by the 15th century, had reached Armenia, Persia, Turkey, and northern Africa. From the Muslim world, coffee spread to Italy, then to the rest of Europe, to Indonesia, and to the Americas.

To pack the right clothes, you need to check the weather in Rome. Rome is usually filled with sunny days the entire year. The height of summer runs from the month of July to August, which is usually uncomfortably hot for most European and American tourists.

In the past, the anatomy of the great city of Rome is not without telephones. However, as the locals grew independent of local phones, public phone booths nearly became extinct. It would be wise to carry your cellular phone. Otherwise, you need to buy prepaid phone cards to the nearby tobacco (tabacchi) store. Also, you need to remember that phone cards won’t work if you are meaning to call a friend that is located outside Italy. You need to buy another kind of phone card, the one intended for international calls.

7 Steps To Boost Digestion And Stop The Bloating And Gas

By: Barb Hughesian

You’ve worked all day, you’re starving and you can’t wait to get home and eat. But when you’re finished, you’ve got that painful, uncomfortable bloating and gas again! So what’s going on? Probably just a little imbalance in your system.

The body is quite remarkable in the way it handles your food. Your digestive system breaks it down, extracts and distributes the nutrients and then discards the waste products. But if you upset the delicate acid/alkaline balance of your digestive tract, your body is going to let you know; hence the reason you feel uncomfortable after eating.

So what can you do? The following tips really helped me and should be helpful to you.

1.Chew your food at least 15-20 times before swallowing. Your saliva is alkaline and it’s the first step of the digestion process. Even if you are eating something like soup that doesn’t require much chewing, still try to get some saliva mixed in before you swallow. This also forces you to eat slowly so you are not gulping down air.
