Motivating Employees: Motivating The Challenge-driven Employee

By: K. MacKillop

Most good leaders and employees are motivated internally through challenging themselves to improve their own skills, experience, and productivity. Internal motivation is very powerful when present, and can be easily quashed by micromanagement and ineffective delegation. The key to keeping challenge-motivated workers at their best is to develop your company culture to encourage autonomy and professional development across the board.

Building a challenge-motivating culture can be difficult for some entrepreneurs. The same self-assurance and drive to do things right that makes an entrepreneur successful can also make it difficult to trust employees to work on their own. Your Employees Are a Business Resource

By: Michiel Van Kets

You need to ensure your employees feel they are being considered as a valuable business resource more so than perhaps the fleet of company vehicles! Valued employees will function well as will constantly maintained vehicles given the time to focus on the day to day running and requirements. The big difference of course is that your employees require this as an emotional state. Don’t under estimate your employees as being of great resource to your company and treat them with this in mind and you may just find you are off to an amazing future with your business.

Having well trained employees is a great benefit to any business large or small. Almost nobody will come to a come with all the necessary training completed. The program was developed to provide employers with a free internet-based system where they could determine employment eligibility of new hires and the validity of their Social Security numbers. The system is operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) partnered with the Social Security Administration (SSA). Employers are able to verify the employment eligibility of their employees, regardless of citizenship. Based on information provided by the employee on his or her Form I-9, E-Verify confirms this information electronically against records contained by DHS and SSA databases.
