The career market has rarely been full of this many qualified people. Despite the recession, housing crisis, and upcoming election, though, people still get jobs. In order for job searchers to stand out from the crowd, they need to follow some careful checklists.

Details matter – List your skills and abilities in detail. Prepare examples so people know you’re the best person for the job.

Words matter – While viewing the world of politics lately, you’re bound to have noted the talents of political speechwriters. It’s true! A lot of wildly successful candidates only got successful by delivering speeches written by top-notch speech writers. Tell people the exact ways you can help them. Don’t lie. Use tact.

What You Need To Know About E-Verify

What is E-Verify?

E-Verify was originally introduced to employers as the Basic Pilot Program. The program was developed to provide employers with a free internet-based system where they could determine employment eligibility of new hires and the validity of their Social Security numbers. The system is operated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) partnered with the Social Security Administration (SSA). Employers are able to verify the employment eligibility of their employees, regardless of citizenship. Based on information provided by the employee on his or her Form I-9, E-Verify confirms this information electronically against records contained by DHS and SSA databases.
