You have had enough that’s it. You’ve decided to emigrate leave your old life behind and start again. You’ve picked the country you want to move to know what visas/ work permits you need and now it’s time to start looking for that all important job.

Where do you start? First thing is to look at your CV/ resume. Why? Different countries have different standards. Some like factual CV /resumes others like will like a sales document.

Let me explain, if you wanted a job in Germany for instance you must include a photograph (remember to put your details on the back of the picture).

You present your Resume / CV in a binder and include copies of all your education certificates and any references from former employers. They are not interested in your personal hobbies, but applicants should include their parents’ details and occupations.

Effective Resume Writing Strategies You Can Use Today

In today’s tough economic climate, the competition for jobs is fierce indeed, which is all the more reason we need to be using effective resume writing strategies that work!
Here, we are not going to show you how to put your resume together; instead, we will share five excellent resume writing tips that you can use.

Tip #1: Know the job and company you are targeting.

Do your research before you start or update your resume. Look up the company you are applying to, and learn everything you can about it. Search online, talk with people in the industry, and make notes. Learn their mission statement, what their goals are, and how they are perceived in the community.

Notice that when you are researching the company, you are likely to see a few things or facts that stand out or are repeated. Also, this type of research could bring issues to the surface that you might not have noticed or learned about earlier. In fact, you might also uncover some information that might make you uncomfortable about the company, showing you that they may not be a good fit for you. Remember, even though you are focusing on their needs, and how you can benefit them, using effective resume writing strategies means that it has to feel good to you, too!

Writing your first CV, although it seems a daunting task doesn’t have to be a difficult process. Many people find it very difficult to sell themselves as it feels like bragging so inevitably you can end up with a CV that undersells your talents.

Additionally, if you are a school leaver or university graduate, it is unlikely that you will have a great deal of relevant experience or evidence for relevant skills. They will be there somewhere! It is just a case of thinking laterally to come up with everyday experiences that show your talents.

While exaggerated and false résumé claims have always been an issue, job candidates are more likely than ever to lie on applications and résumés in these difficult economic times. Unfortunately, small businesses are more negatively impacted by falsified credentials and/or fraudulent job claims, as every employee in a small company has a significant impact on overall performance, employee morale and the bottom line. Compounding this problem is the fact that applicants are more inclined to lie to small businesses because they believe that these companies are less likely to conduct pre employment background checks.
