Melt and pour soap making is possibly the easiest way to get into soap making. The basic ingredient is the glycerine soap base and is normally clear in appearance. In fact melt and pour soap making is often called glycerin soap making and enables beginners and experts alike to create some visually stunning soaps very easily. It is such an accessible craft that you will very soon be personalising your soaps and coming up with your own unique creations to suite your own tastes.
You can personalise your melt and pour soap in a huge number of ways. You can add colours and fragrances which is perhaps the easiest way to customise them and produce beautiful looking and smelling soaps. These are added after the soap base has been melted. Of course you can experiment with different moulds, which will determine the shape and size of the final soap. Some amazing moulds are available to buy at low cost and can be found easily either on Google or Ebay. When you are adding colours and fragrances to your soaps it is important to remember that a little goes a long way! I would recommend checking out essential oils for adding fragrance to your soaps, but be very careful when handling these.
