Thailand Eco Adventure Trip Ideas

By: Michel Gerard

Thailand is known as an eco-adventure destination by travelers since the seventies, when backpackers came across the jungle trek tours in the north of the kingdom. Thailand provides now a huge variety of eco adventure recreations in all parts of the country.

Treks are most popular in northen Thailand due to the beauty of nature. Deep jungles, rivers and waterfalls, hot-springs, forested mountains and rice terrace fields are dream landscapes for travelers. The north is also rich in cultural diversity with ethnic tribe villages that travelers can experience during trekking. Thailand offers also several national parks and wildlife sanctuaries country wide where treks can be arranged.

My Favorite Thai Food

By: Christopher Snyder

I was thinking of providing a comprehensive of “foods found in Thailand” list but decided there are just too many and listing the foods that I love most would be far easier. So… The list below provides a short list of my favorite Thai foods.

Fried Rice - I love Thai style pork fried rice for breakfast. This is basic fried rice with tomatoes, onions with Thai spices like lime and chili thrown in at the end.

Thai Omelet - The Thai omelet is simple but delicious dish made of eggs, chili, onions, pork and other things as desire. The chilies make it spicy and Thai. The omelet is served with white rice.

Guide to Thai Cuisine

By: Andy Burrows

Tourist restaurants will often serve up a spineless, tasteless version of what should be a full flavour feast, and without anyone to tell you the food is less than genuine; a visitor’s introduction to Thai food is often tainted by these ‘farang-ised’ Thai dishes. Once you have had enough of yet another overly sweet, messy slop of phad thai, it is time to explore the never-ending possibilities of Thai cuisine.

When asked what they like most about Thailand, visitors often answer ‘the food’. The creation of Siam servings is a masterful mix of salty, sweet, sour, spicy and bitter. The spice factor, often too much for most westerners, is used for medicinal purposes, combined with the use of market fresh vegetables and the choicest local herbs for bursting flavours and prevention of common ailments. The food is low in fat and high in fibre and most dishes, considering they taste so good, are surprisingly nutritious.

Discover the Charms of Bangkok

By: Wolfgang Jaegel

Bangkok is the largest as well as the capital city of Thailand. Situated near the Gulf of Thailand and on the eastern banks of the Chao Phraya River, in the south-west part of the country, Bangkok is perhaps the number one tourist spot in South-East Asia, and serves as the gateway to the country.

Bangkok is an incredible destination that is a blend of east and west, and one can see here historic as well as ancient shrines overlooking towering modern building that dominate the skyline. Apart from being a popular tourist spot, Bangkok serves as the country’s seat of administration and government. Bangkok is also the main port of the country, and is home to about one tenth of the population of the country. Further, Bangkok is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the East due to its beautiful canals and rivers.
