Research your topic/keywords: if you are writing an article about your product, this comes naturally to you. But if you are writing an article on another person’s product such as in affiliate marketing, you will need to research the niche for that product. Now, you can easily research niches by searching for them with search engines like Google. Jot down notes. Search for frequently asked questions (FAQ) on Google for your niche topic. Join forums on such niches if possible. For example, you might want to promote weight loss programs and you will be writing a lot of articles on them, so joining weight loss forums is in order and you will gain a lot from what people are discussing in such forums. You can also research keywords using keyword tools like word tracker. Read up you notes and gain insight into your chosen niche.

One thing that every writer wants to know is how to earn more money from writing. This is because being a writer can be a fickle business sometimes and so you need to have as many sources of income as possible.

You also need to use your time wisely to be able to write as much as you can and be as productive as you can. You need to use the phrase “Don’t Get It Right, Get It Written” as often as possible to get you off the starting blocks and writing as much as you can, instead of trying edit your work and be as perfect as possible as you go along. It’s so much easier to just start writing and don’t stop till you’ve finished and THEN go back and edit your work later. Writing website content is different from writing for a print publication to some extent. Site visitors focus differently on the web; they skim rather than read. You can’t change their behavior, so if you want to get your point across, you need to change the way you write. Therefore, apart from the rules of proper grammar and spelling, making your paragraphs somewhat short and punchy is what you need to keep in mind.

- Start with the short summary; think of it as an executive summary if that helps. Then fill things in. Journalists often write this way, putting “who, what, where, when, how and why” at first.
