‘Hottest Destinations’ in the 2009 Aftonbladet Readers’ Poll: Thailand Ranks No. 1 in ‘Sun and Beach Outside of Europe’

Aftonbladet, one of the leading travel publications in Sweden, organized a reader’s poll for the sixth year in 2009.

In December 2008, readers were invited to vote on the “hottest’ destinations” to which they plan to travel, or would like to travel to. A total of 30,093 individuals took part in the survey and voted for their favourite destinations in eight survey categories. The results were published in the January 13-14, 2009 special supplement.

Thailand, with a score of 31.3 per cent, was once again in the lead in the “Sun and Beach Outside Europe” category. Brazil (with 10.6 per cent) ranks second; followed by Malaysia (10.4 per cent), the Dominican Republic (10.3 per cent); Florida (8.1 per cent) and the Canary Island (7.5 per cent).
